its only a matter of time. i hope you carry spares?   here is a link to what happened to mine ,its the last pic showing the carrier and ring gear. it doesnt look to bad in the pic , but it sounded pretty bad when it went. i was only doing 20 mph on a fire road in 2nd. it only had 92,000 miles on it.

How easy was your metalcloak fender install?  Thinking about picking them up.

It wasn't difficult. It does take a little time though. If you doing just the front you might be able to get it done in a day but plan on an entire weekend for those little unknowns that popup with any project. Take your time.

On a side note, I didn't care for the bare aluminum look from the outside so I picked up a couple cans of Rustoleum Undercoating (Lowe's) and sprayed the fender wells with that. Plan on one can per fender well.

Was yours 30 spline at the time or stock? I know it's still only a matter of time but I know stock is much weaker.

Wow, that link tells the story.  Kevin, please upgrade that axle before you die.  Hate to loose a friend.

woow i forgot you had upgrade shafts and carrier. if you welded the tubes to the pumpkin then you should be fine with 35's , i think.

I ordered some spare Ten Factory 30 spline shafts from 4wd.com for the D35 rear. A D60 isn't in the budget at the moment so I'm going to try and get through the summer and hopefully never have to use the spares.

I used the 10% club discount plus I had a $25 promo card.  :D

ive got a buddy with a ford 8.8 , drum brake style if your interested. he will let it go for $125, hurry if you want it, it wont be around for long at that price.  disc ones are more desirable but drums are on yours now and they work ok.

Though stronger, isn't an 8.8 still a C-Clip rear end?

Please don't make us have the discussion on whether or no to spend money on a smaller rear end again.

Why would you spend money on a bigger rear end. They get bigger for free the older you get

I'll admit it...I like a little "junk in the trunk"!    Could be worth paying for.
